Arch Linux Distribution Release

Pierre Schmitz has announced the availability of a new installation CD/USB image for Arch Linux, version 2012.08.04:

The August snapshot of our live and install media comes with updated packages and the following changes on top of the previous ISO image:

• GRUB 2.0 instead of the legacy 0.9 version is available.
• The Installation Guide can be found at /root/install.txt.
• ZSH with Grml's configuration is used as interactive shell to provide a user friendly and more convenient environment. This includes completion support for pacstrap, arch-chroot, pacman and most other tools.
• The network daemon is started by default which will automatically setup your network if DHCP is available.

Note that all these changes only affect the live system and not the base system you install using pacstrap. The ISO image can be downloaded from our download page. The next snapshot is scheduled for September.

Freedom

Another guiding principle of Arch Linux development is freedom. Users are not only permitted to make all decisions concerning system configuration, but also choose what their system will be.
By keeping the system simple, Arch Linux provides the freedom to make any choice about the system.
A freshly installed Arch Linux system contains only basic core components with no automatic configuration performed. Users are able to configure the system as they wish, from the shell. From the start of the installation procedure, every component of the system is 100% transparent and accessible for instant access, removal, or replacement by alternative components.
The large number of packages and build scripts in the various Arch Linux repositories also support freedom of choice, offering free and open source software for those who prefer it, as well as proprietary software packages, for those who embrace functionality over ideology. It is the user who chooses.
As Judd Vinet, the founder of the Arch Linux project said: "[Arch Linux] is what you make it."

How to Fix Depends: libgtk2.0-0 (>= 2.24.10) but 2.24.6-0ubuntu5linuxmint1 while install GIMP on Linux Mint

Error :
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
 gimp : Depends: libgimp2.0 (>= 2.8.0-1ubuntu0ppa3~oneiric) but it is not going to be installed
        Depends: libgimp2.0 (<= 2.8.0-z) but it is not going to be installed
        Depends: libgtk2.0-0 (>= 2.24.10) but 2.24.6-0ubuntu5linuxmint1 is to be installed
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.


How to Fix it :
1. Remove your previous GIMP PPA
sudo add-apt-repository --remove ppa:otto-kesselgulasch/gimp
2. sudo apt-get update


3. Uninstall previous GIMP
apt-get remove gimp


4. Install GIMP
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:otto-kesselgulasch/gimp
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install gimp


5.If you want to upgrade it to version 2.8
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

Error  Code :
E: Could not get lock /var/lib/apt/lists/lock - open (11: Resource temporarily unavailable)

How to fix it :
Open your terminal, then type it : sudo rm /var/lib/apt/lists/lock

Bingung mau download video dari Facebook? hehe.. gampang caranya. Cukup pake Script tambahan buat perambah/ browser Anda, nama scriptnya Facebook Video Downloader. 
Terus gimana caranya install scriptnya?. 
Hehe.. gampang atuh Gan! 
Kalo Agan pake Google Chrome tinggal download Scriptnya di sini.
Terus install aja Scriptnya

Abis itu, pilih Continue

Terus pilih Add

Kalo nongol beginian, berarti installasi scriptnya berhasil :D

Setelah itu, Agan tinggal masuk ke alamat video di facebook yang mau Agan download, :)

Nanti akan muncul link buat download di pojok kanan bawah videonya

Klik kanan terus copy linknya

Tinggal buka aplikasi donwload manager Agan (di sini ane pake Internet Download Manager), terus paste aja linknya

Selesai :), happy download gan!

Google Drive Cloud Storage now Available!

Setelah lebih dari 6 tahun menjadi rumor, akhirnya Google resmi meluncurkan Google Drive!.
Apa itu Google Drive? Google drive merupakan layanan Google yang menyediakan cloud storage/media penyimpanan online, di mana kita bisa menyimpan data-data kita ke internet (cloud) sehingga dapat diakses di mana saja dan kapan saja, selagi ada layanan internet :D.
Google Drive menyediakan media penyimpanan berkapasitas 5GB secara gratis!. hehe.. Lebih unggul dibandingkan DropBox :D.

Menjalankan Google Drive di Desktop Anda

Download aplikasinya di sini, sementara ini support untuk MacOS dan Windows, untuk Linux sendiri masih dalam tahap pengerjaan, dan versi mobilenya (Android App & iOS) sudah hampir selesai.

Setelah selesai mendownload, maka akan tampil installasi Google Drive ^^.

Klik Next

Kemudian pilih Advance Setup untuk mengubah setting & directory Google Drive, atau langsung Finish bila tidak ingin merubah directory dan setting Googlle Drive :D

Ubah Direktori : 

Pilih Change untuk merubah directory Google Drive Anda. Anda bisa meletakkannya di Drive D:, apabila komputer Anda terpasang Deep Freeze atau di mana saja Anda suka deh, yang penting jangan dtaro' di saku celana ya.., apalagi celananya tetangga, bisa berabe urusannya ntar :D

Sync Options : 

Centang apabila Anda ingin memilih folder" tertentu saja yang akan di sinkronkan dengan Google Drive

Sync Google Docs files : 

Sinkronkan file anda dengan Google Docs

Misc :

Conteng, apabila ingin menambahkan aplikasi Google Drive ke dalam startup komputer Anda (aplikasi Google drive akan otomatis berjalan, ketika komputer dinyalakan).

Kemudian klik Start sync untuk memulai Google Drive

Setelah proses installasi selesai, Anda dapat memulai memindahkan data" penting Anda ke folder Google Drive Anda

Anda dapat mengakses file"/data" Anda tadi di : https://drive.google.com/#my-drive :)
Mudah bukan? hehe, selamat membackup video porno data" penting Anda ke Google Drive :D
